The duchess’s private bedroom
This room is very special as not many of these rooms survived. Build in 1809 as a tented room, these rooms became very en vogue during the napoleonic period. Usually these rooms were smaller but this grand room would be used by the duchess from its beginning. It belongs to a suite of rooms that always belonged to the mistress of the castle. Comprised of the Chinese state bedroom, the dressing room, the tented bedroom room, small sitting room and bathroom. The magnificent chandelier is definitely one of the highlights.
